Dear President Poteat:

As the school year gets underway, I am sure you are busy with the arrival of students, the continued demands of your position and the upcoming Homecoming Weekend.

I wanted to take a short amount of your time to share with you a newsletter published by our General Fraternity to show you the continued efforts our organization is making to focus on values-based education. I hope you are able to review this newsletter and feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.

I also wanted to take a moment and update you on the workings of the alumni of the Bethany College chapter of Beta Theta Pi. On October 4, 2003, alumni are returning to Bethany to celebrate the festivities of Homecoming while also conducting business for the Fraternity. A meeting will be held for the general assembly of alumni to share updates on our three key organizations, the Psi Diamond Charitable Funds Foundation, the Psi Diamond House Corporation and the Psi Diamond Alumni Association. You will be receiving an official invitation shortly.

Concluding the organization reports, an announcement will be made calling for action and the establishment of the official Psi Diamond Strategic Planning Committee. This group will work to align the three existing organizations under a newly created vision statement that will align with the values of Beta Theta Pi and the mission and vision of Bethany College. After the official establishment of this committee, we hope to have regular involvement from the College to help prepare us with our efforts.

As always, Dr. Poteat, we appreciate your ongoing support and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Sincerely,

Vincent E. Mikolay, ‘00
Director of Leadership Development
Beta Theta Pi Fraternity
